Emerging Poets Fund
With our ongoing support, the Library of Congress presents the annual Mary Oliver Memorial Reading to recognize talented emerging poets. The poets are selected by the U.S. Poet Laureate in consultation with the Literary Staff of the Library of Congress. Poets are brought to Washington, DC to explore the Library of Congress holdings and to be featured at a public reading at the Library. A discussion follows the reading and then a book signing. Tickets are free to the public.
2025
The second annual Mary Oliver Memorial Reading for Emerging Poets will feature Ariana Benson and Robin Walter, hosted by Aimee Nezhukumatathil. Attendees are also encouraged to visit the curated display “Mary Oliver: Poet of the Natural World”.
